CalcMyTax is a free suite of tax and finance calculators for the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Our goal is simple: give people clear, trustworthy answers to everyday money questions — how much tax you pay, what a mortgage really costs, how much you keep from a salary — without sign-ups, paywalls or data harvesting. Every tool runs instantly in your browser.
Our editorial principles
- Accuracy first. Every calculator is based on official, published figures for the relevant tax year, and we state the year on each tool.
- Transparency. We show the full breakdown behind each result — brackets, deductions and rates — not just a single number.
- Independence. Results are not influenced by advertisers. Calculators are free and identical for every visitor.
- Plain language. We explain the "why" so you can make informed decisions, and we are clear about what each estimate does and does not include.
How we build and check our calculators
Each calculator follows the same process:
- Source the official figures. We pull tax brackets, standard deductions, contribution limits and thresholds from primary government publications for the current year.
- Implement the real formula. Tax is computed with proper marginal-bracket logic (each band taxed only on the income within it), not flat approximations.
- Cross-check. Outputs are validated against worked examples and the published figures before release.
- Update annually. Calculators are revised when new tax-year figures are confirmed; the current edition reflects 2026 (UK: 2026/27).
Our data sources
We rely on primary and widely-trusted references, including:
- United States — Internal Revenue Service (IRS) federal brackets, standard deductions and FICA wage bases; state income-tax brackets and standard deductions compiled from the Tax Foundation.
- Canada — Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) federal and provincial brackets, CPP and EI parameters.
- United Kingdom — HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Income Tax bands, Personal Allowance and National Insurance thresholds.
- Exchange rates — live mid-market currency rates from public providers, refreshed regularly; cryptocurrency prices from CoinGecko.
Important: estimates, not advice
CalcMyTax provides estimates for general guidance and education. Real tax bills depend on your full circumstances — credits, deductions, local taxes, pension contributions and more — which a general calculator cannot capture. Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified accountant or tax professional in your country.
Accessibility & privacy
Calculations run in your browser; we do not store the numbers you type. The site is designed to meet WCAG contrast and keyboard-accessibility standards and works on phones, tablets and desktops.
