Federal + Provincial Income Tax (2026)
How It Works
This tool applies the 2026 Canadian federal marginal tax brackets and your selected province's 2026 marginal brackets to your annual income. Each bracket is taxed only on the portion of income that falls within it, then totalled to give your federal tax, provincial tax, total tax, average (effective) rate and after-tax income.
FAQ
- Which provinces does this calculator support? Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec, using their 2026 provincial marginal brackets plus the 2026 federal brackets.
- Does it include CPP, EI or tax credits? No. This is a simplified estimate applying marginal brackets to income only โ it excludes CPP/EI, credits beyond basic, and the Quebec abatement.
- What is the average (effective) tax rate? It is your total tax divided by your income. It is lower than your top marginal rate because lower brackets are taxed at lower rates.
